The Packers drafted North Carolina tight end Ryan Taylor in the seventh round with the 218th pick.

He stands 6-3 and weights 254. He played both tight end and linebacker, similar to the Packersí Spencer Havner. Heís also listed as an outstanding special teams player.

We are waiting to find out how the Packers plan to use Taylor. If itís as a tight end, it begs the question: how many tight ends do the Packers need? They already drafted D.J. Williams in the fifth round, and have Jermichael Finley, Andrew Quarless and Tom Crabtree on the roster.

Lawrence Guy

The Packers drafted Arizona State defensive tackle / defensive end Lawrence Guy with their seventh-round pick (No. 233 overall). He was projected by Pro Football Weekly to be drafted in the third or fourth round.

PFW positives: Has ideal size and large hands. Good movement skills, runs well for a 300-pounder.

PFW negatives: Average athletic ability, eys and instincts. Late to locate and find the ball.
