Former Green Bay Packers K Don Chandler dies at 76

Don Chandler, who was the kicker on the Green Bay Packers' championship teams in 1965, 1966 and 1967, died Thursday morning in Tulsa, Okla. He was 76 and had been battling cancer.

Seeking to shore up the Packers' kicking game, coach Vince Lombardi acquired Chandler, then 31, from the New York Giants before the 1965 season. The move immediately paid dividends.

Chandler kicked a game-winning 25-yard field goal in overtime as the Packers defeated the Baltimore Colts 13-10 in the Western Division championship game at Lambeau Field on Dec. 26, 1965. ...
