49ers sign former Packers WR Taylor to practice squad

Nov. 6, 2013

In another sign of just how deep the Packers' receiving corps was in training camp, the San Francisco 49ers signed Kerry Taylor to their practice squad this week. Taylor was one of four young receivers who had strong showings in the Packers' camp but were unable to make the 53-man roster because of the five players ahead of them. The Packers signed three of the four to their own practice squad: Chastin West, Tori Gurley and Diondre Borel. A week into the season, Jacksonville signed West to its 53-man roster. Gurley and Borel remain on the Packers' practice squad. Taylor, the nephew of former 49ers great John Taylor, had seven catches for an 8.0-yard average in training camp.
