Green Bay Packers RB Alex Green out for season with knee injury

The season is over for Green Bay Packers third-round draft pick Alex Green.

The No. 3 running back was blocking on a first-quarter kickoff return when he went down with a knee injury. Coach Mike McCarthy didn't give the specifics of the injury, but said Monday Green will need between seven and 10 days for the swelling to go down. Surgery will be necessary, but it is unknown if it will be a complete reconstruction.

Green was active for four games this season, had three carries for 11 yards and one reception for six yards. ...
