Green expects mental hurdles

Packers third round draft pick Alex Green was placed on injured reserve Monday. He will undergo ACL surgery after suffering the injury against the Vikings in Week 7. Green plans to stay in Green Bay to rehab once he has the surgery - after the swelling goes down. He spoke with the media yesterday with a set of crutches leaned against his locker. "I can already tell, mentally, itís going to be a challenge just staying in tune with everything and not getting too down about it," Green said. Making things even more frustrating for Green was the fact he was finally healthy and his role had begun to increase. He was active for 3 of the last 4 games before going down on a first-quarter kickoff. "I was supposed to play more than I had been playing in that game," Green said. "That was frustrating to me because I had a couple packages set up for me. Then when I went down, I was like dang because that was supposed to be my chance."
