Dungy says Packers must beware of Eagles

† So which NFL team is going to stand up and give the unbeaten Green Bay Packers a legitimate challenge to their Super Bowl throne? Which NFC team has what it takes to knock off the reigning champions? If you believe former NFL coach and current NBC commentator Tony Dungy, itís the Philadelphia Eagles. Dungy was impressed with the Eaglesí lopsided 34-7 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday and said thatís the one team in the NFC that should definitely be on Packers coach Mike McCarthyís radar. According to Dungy, the Eagles match up well against the Packers and are capable of coming to Lambeau Field in January and winning a playoff game. Of course, the Eagles will need more than back-to-back victories against shaky teams like the Redskins and Cowboys to prove their worth this season. The Eagles'†record is an unimpressive 3-4 and they trail the first-place New York Giants (5-2) in the NFC East by two games. The Eagles have challenging games during the final two months of the season against the Giants, Patriots, Bears and New York Jets. Before they get a chance to take on the Packers in the post-season, the Eagles will need to survive that gauntlet and qualify for the playoffs. A good bet is that no less than a 10-6 record will earn an NFC playoff berth, meaning the Eagles will have to finish no worse than 7-2 in their final nine games. Itís possible, and Andy Reidís teams have a reputation for playing well in the second half of the season. But after their sluggish 1-4 start, the Eagles still have a long way to go.
