Friday practice report: Outside work

Nov. 6, 2013

It was a beautiful fall morning in Green Bay, so coach Mike McCarthy took the Packers outside for the final practice of the week before Sunday's game at San Diego. With a high of 53 today in Green Bay, the weather here isn't that much different from what they'll get in Southern California, where high temperatures this weekend aren't expected to climb higher than the low 60s. Once again, left tackle Chad Clifton (hamstring) and defensive end Mike Neal (knee) were the only players who didn't practice, although linebacker Clay Matthews appeared to be limited. We'll have the full injury report and comments from McCarthy after practice at approximately 12:30 p.m., so check back then. UPDATE (12:32 p.m.): Here's the full injury report: Morgan Burnett, S Hand Full Participation Probable Chad Clifton, T Knee / Hamstring Out Jamari Lattimore, LB Shoulder Full Participation Probable Clay Matthews, LB Quadricep Limited Participation Probable Mike Neal, DE Knee Out Sam Shields, CB Concussion Full Participation Probable Josh Sitton, G Knee Limited Participation Probable Frank Zombo, LB Knee Full Participation Probable McCarthy on: * Zombo: had a full week of practice and looks ready to go. It's been a good week. * Shields: Sam really stepped up big for us last year. Going through a natural progression as a young player. ... Without the offseason, he's played good ball so far but wha'ts exciting about Sam is what's in front of him. Look for him to continue to grow. * Nick Collins: Great to see him, great to have him around and in meetings. He got the neck brace off, will travel to San Diego.
