The game should have been over. The Green Bay Packers had a 45-31 lead with 7:32 left in the fourth quarter when the San Diego Chargers lined up for an onside kick. The Packers likely would have put the game away had they recovered.

But the hands teams broke down.

Jarrett Bush, Tom Crabtree, Ryan Taylor, Andrew Quarless and Brandon Saine lined up left to right from the left sideline. Receiver Jordy Nelson stood alone about five yards behind the wall. The initial line is supposed to allow the kick to go through and block so Nelson can field the ball. ...
