Coach Mike McCarthy has moved the Packers to their reduced winter practice schedule this week for the season's stretch run.
In the final third or so of each season, McCarthy shortens the players' work by about half-an-hour on Wednesdays and Thursdays, including reducing practice by about 15 minutes.
McCarthy usually goes to the winter schedule closer to the halfway point of the regular season - in 2009, for instance, he did it after eight games. But this year he waited until after the Packers played a challenging stretch of three games in 11 days. ...
