Battle of play-action

The Packers offense vs. Giants defense could have an interesting dynamic when it comes to the play-action pass game. STATS LLC calculated that Aaron Rodgers holds the highest passer rating in the NFL on play-action passes. Rodgers has completed 57-of-84 passes for 1,074 yards, 12 touchdowns, 1 interception and a 145.3 rating. The top five rounds out with Ben Roethlisberger (130.7), Matt Schaub (129.5), Matt Ryan (122.3) and Matthew Stafford (113.0). Roethlisberger and Schaub are tied for No. 2 with 8 touchdowns. Nearly 1/3 of Rodgers' passing yards (3,475) have come off play-action. 36 percent of his touchdown passes (33) were thrown off play-action. The Giants defense, however, is the No. 5 defense in the league defending the play-action with a 77.9 opponents passer rating. The G-Men have allowed 57 completions on 86 attempts for 844 yards, 1 touchdown and 5 interceptions. The Texans defense (41.4 passer rating against play-action), 49ers (63.7), Cowboys (68.5) and Jets (71.9) are the top 4 in the NFL.
