Friday practice report: Clifton practices again, Rodgers seems unlikely to play much if at all

Apparently, Chad Clifton didn't have any issues with Thursday's padded practice because the veteran left tackle was on the field again today and appears set to make his return Sunday against the Lions. Though it's unclear how much he will play in his first action since he tore his hamstring on Oct. 9 against Atlanta and then had a subsequent back injury during his rehab, Clifton will get a chance to show he can return to form. If he does, perhaps he will win his old starting job back from Marshall Newhouse for the playoffs. Those who did not practice today and aren't expected to play were: receiver Randall Cobb (groin), running back James Starks (ankle), right tackle Bryan Bulaga (kneecap) and receiver Greg Jennings (knee). We'll have the full injury report and comments from coach Mike McCarthy after practice at about 12:30 p.m. UPDATE (12:35 p.m.): Here's the full injury report: Bryan Bulaga, T Knee Did Not Participate Doubtful Chad Clifton, T Hamstring/Back Limited Participation Probable Randall Cobb, WR Groin Did Not Participate Out Jermichael Finley, TE Knee Limited Participation Probable Greg Jennings, WR Knee Out Clay Matthews, LB Ankle Limited Participation Questionable Ryan Pickett, DE Concussion Full Participation Probable James Starks, RB Knee/Ankle Did Not Participate Out Charles Woodson, CB Knee Limited Participation Questionable McCarthy on: * Woodson/Matthews being questionable: Just the way they're feeling. Being smart with them throughout the week was the right thing to do. * Will you start Rodgers?: The most important thing with Aaron is he's ready to play. Whether he starts, we'll talk about that today. We repped all three QBs this week. Would like to see all three play in the game. That was the initial plan at the start of the week, but we'll make those decision. * Want to see Pickett: I look at Ryan and Chad differently as far as their injuries and how thye're going to play in this game. Ryan hasn't played in a number of weeks. * Plan for next week: We've kicked around a plan for the open week based on a Saturday and Sunday game. We're going to work Wednesday and Thursday, normal practice, and potentially Friday. Keep our players mentally and physically on the same time clock. * On what he wants to see from Flynn: I want to see Matt play like he did in New England and take it a step further and win the game.
