What the Giants are saying about the Packers

The headlines in this morning's New York Daily News said it all. On the front cover: "Bring on the Pack." On the back cover: "Pack beware! JPP promises win next week after Giants rip Falcons. CHEESE PUFFS." Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul more or less predicted the Giants would knock off the Packers in Sunday's NFC divisional playoff game at Lambeau Field. Via the Daily News, Pierre-Paul said: "They beat us (during the regular season), which they shouldn't. We're gonna walk away with the win." He was asked how certain he was of that prediction. “A hundred percent,” Pierre-Paul said. The Newark Star Ledger, however, points out, "Though few were as outspoken as Pierre-Paul in their confidence about this next matchup with Aaron Rodgers and the almost-perfect Packers — as you’ll remember, Green Bay barely edged the Giants, 38-35, here last month — the Giants like what they see." On ESPNNewYork.com, Giants defensive end Justin Tuck, a member of the 2007 Giants Super Bowl team that beat the Packers in the NFC title game, said: "I think we've probably got more weaponry on offense [than in 2007]. We might be a better team -- quote, unquote -- just by the numbers. But I think Green Bay is better than they were in '07 too." In the New York Post, which had the headline, "Packin' a Wallop," a few members of the Atlanta Falcons believe the Giants can knock off the Packers. Said Falcons tight end Anthony Gonzalez: "Green Bay should be worried because they like to pass the ball while the Giants like to rush the passer and do a very good job of that."
