INDIANAPOLIS - The Green Bay Packers' coaching staff wanted Nick McDonald to be their guy. They loved his 6-foot-4, 315-pound frame and moved him to center after he signed as an undrafted free agent in 2010 with hopes he could succeed free-agent-to-be Scott Wells.

It didn't happen.

The Packers cut McDonald during training camp, but the move worked out for all. Wells started 16 games and went to his first Pro Bowl. McDonald was picked up by the New England Patriots and will be on the 53-man roster in a Super Bowl for the second consecutive year. ...
