INDIANAPOLIS - The New York Giants knew they would see the Green Bay Packers again. They had just lost 38-35 at home to the undefeated reigning Super Bowl champions in early December and stood nose-to-nose, boxing-style, with the league's best team.

Six weeks later, the Giants had scrapped their way into the playoffs and beat the Atlanta Falcons 24-2 in the wild-card round to set up a rematch with the top-seeded Packers at Lambeau Field.

But this time, the Giants were a different team. ...
