Report: Raiders have interest in Packers' Whitt

Nov. 6, 2013

Citing a league source, NFL.com reported that the Oakland Raiders have requested permission from the Packers to interview cornerbacks coach Joe Whitt about their defensive coordinator job. Raiders General Manager Reggie McKenzie is familiar with Whitt from their years together working for the Packers. But McKenzie has said new Raiders head coach Dennis Allen has the authority to hire his own staff. Whitt, 33, joined the Packers as a defensive quality control assistant in March 2008 and was promoted to cornerbacks coach in February 2009.
