Packers start over as Super Bowl favorites

Nov. 6, 2013

Oddsmakers don't seem put off by the Green Bay Packers' failure to repeat as Super Bowl champions. The folks at the online betting site Bovada have installed the Packers as 6-1 favorites to win Super Bowl XLVII. Nor do they seem discouraged by the New England Patriots' loss in Super Bowl XLVI. The Patriots are right behind the Packers, at 7-1. Should the oddsmakers be right, that would create a rematch of the teams from Super Bowl XXXI, which the Packers won in January 1997. That game was played at the Superdome in New Orleans. So will Super Bowl XLVII. The odds for NFC North teams: Packers 6-1, Lions 18-1, Bears 30-1, Vikings 75-1.
