With a new general manager and a new coach on board, the Green Bay Packers took another step toward a brighter future 20 years ago.

On Feb. 11, 1992, new Packers GM Ron Wolf announced that the team had acquired quarterback Brett Favre -- Atlanta's third-stringer -- in a trade with the Falcons. The Packers sent their 1992 first-round draft pick, No. 17 in that year's draft, to Atlanta.

There were only two reporters at Lambeau Field when the Packers hosted a conference call with the unheralded Favre late that afternoon - Chris Havel of the Green Bay Press-Gazette and Terry Charles of WDUZ radio in ...
