The Green Bay Packers have explored the possibility of signing an NFL veteran to replace former starting center Scott Wells, who signed with the St. Louis Rams last week.

The Packers reportedly have contacted free agent Jeff Saturday, the longtime center for Peyton Manning with the Indianapolis Colts. ESPN.com reported that the Packers were one of two teams that had set up visits with Saturday. The Tennessee Titans were the other.

Saturday's agent, Ralph Cindrich, did not return messages left Monday, but ProFootballTalk.com reported that Saturday spent Monday visiting the Packers. ...
