Packers receive four compensatory draft picks

PALM BEACH, Fla. - General Manager Ted Thompson will be armed with four extra picks in next month's draft.

The Green Bay Packers on Monday received the maximum allotment of compensatory picks, two in the fourth round and two in the seventh round. In all, the NFL awarded 32 extra draft choices to 15 teams as part of the league system that allows extra picks for teams that experience net losses in free agency the previous year.

The Packers were compensated for losing five unrestricted free agents in the frenzy of signings that followed the lockout last July. They lost defensive end Cullen Jenkins ...
