Agent Alan Herman, who represents both Ryan Grant and Nick Collins, has been busy. He said today that Grant has received a contract offer from the Packers' NFC North rival, the Detroit Lions, and from one other team that "prefers to be silent." "But it's not the Packers," Herman said. Herman said Grant hasn't made a decision yet. Though the Packers didn't draft a running back last weekend, they don't appear to be interested in bringing back their primary running back since 2007. Grant rushed for 559 yards on 134 carries (a 4.2-yard average) and two touchdowns last season while splitting time with James Starks. Grant came back after missing all but the first game of the 2010 season because of an ankle injury. Herman also said he's been fielding calls from teams wondering if former Packers safety Nick Collins plans to play again. The Packers released Collins last week after they didn't feel comfortable with the medical reports following his neck fusion surgery last September. Herman said Collins hasn't decided whether he will try to play again. Just because teams have expressed an interest doesn't mean they would pass him on his physical, either.
