Grant to the Lions? Not so fast

Last week, the agent for free-agent running back Ryan Grant said his client was mulling a contract offer from the Detroit Lions and possibly one other team. The agent, Alan Herman, wouldn't name the other team but said it wasn't the Packers. Now, it appears there may not be any interest from the Lions, either. Reports out of Detroit said Grant was scheduled to visit the Lions on Monday, but that meeting never happened. According to ESPN.com, there is no visit scheduled, either. And according to the Detroit Free Press, there was never any visit scheduled. Grant split time with the James Starks last season, but it appears the Packers have decided to move on. In addition to Starks, they return second-year backs Alex Green and Brandon Saine. Green is coming off a knee injury but is expected to be ready for the start of the season. They didn't draft a running back but signed USC's Marc Tyler as an undrafted rookie.
