The Packers will have to wait a little longer to see what they have in fourth-round pick Mike Daniels. The defensive tackle from Iowa was held out of all drills except for the jog-through period during today's rookie orientation practice. Daniels had shoulder surgery in January to repair a torn labrum. He did not work out at the combine because he was still recovering. Coach Mike McCarthy said Daniels has been ruled out for the rest of this weekend. The rookies are scheduled to join the veterans in offseason workouts next week for a final week of individual position work (IPWs) before the organized team activity (OTA) phase begins on May 21. "I really can't go past this weekend," McCarthy said when asked when Daniels will be cleared. "Obviously, we're in another week of phase two, which for us is IPW, individual position work, as we like to refer to it here. He may be able to go through that because there's not really any contact. I think I'll get to see Mike on the field Monday, Tuesday and Thursday next week, and then we'll probably re-evaluate him when we have the physicals the following Monday and see if he's ready for the first OTA on Tuesday."
