Genus, Draheim at center in rookie camp

The Packers have only one of their undrafted offensive lineman working at center in this minicamp and with practice-squad holdover Samson Genus. The team didn't draft any centers after losing starter Scott Wells in free agency and signing 36-year-old Jeff Saturday to replace him. That leaves third-year pro Evan Dietrich-Smith as the leading contender to be their No. 2 center. However, the Packers have at least two other centers on their roster right now. Genus is eligible for this weekend's rookie orientation camp and has been working as the No. 1 center. Behind him has been undrafted rookie Tommie Draheim of San Diego State. Draheim (6-4 1/8, 304) played left tackle at San Diego State but is moving to center with the Packers. Genus is short for the position at 6-0, but the Packers liked him enough to keep him on their practice squad all last season. "I still move my feet pretty good," Genus said. "You have to work harder every place to make up for the (height) disadvantage. Even talking to (defensive lineman B.J.) Raji, hes like, 'You have the perfect height.' Even he hates competing against me sometimes because leverage is everything. I have a good base and am pretty stable. Kind of like it."
