So what did receiver Donald Driver mean Thursday when he tweeted that he would be a Green Bay Packer for life? In an exclusive interview Friday with Green Bay Press-Gazette reporter Kendra Meinert, Driver shed some additional light on his playing status for the upcoming season. ďI think so many people right now are worried if Iím going to be a Packer,Ē Driver said in a telephone interview. ďIím still under contract. My contract is not over with the Packers. I will be a Packer for life. I donít think thatís ever going to change. I think thatís what I want the fans to understand. Donít worry. If you havenít heard it from me or you havenít heard it from the Packers, you canít listen to the reporters, the media. ... You have to trust me, and you also have to trust the Packers that I will be a Packer for life.Ē Driver is in Los Angeles preparing for next weekís ďDancing With the StarsĒ finale. Driver expressed a willingness last January to take a pay cut, and his agent, Jordan Woy, said on Thursday he has discussed Driverís contract with the Packers. Woy said he expects to work out the details once Driver returns to Green Bay following his dancing gig. Read Meinertís story on Driver that will appear Sunday in the Press-Gazette and at PackersNews.com, and review the Press-Gazetteís comprehensive coverage of Driverís dancing exploits.
