McCarthy doesn't rule out keeping 6 receivers

Packers coach Mike McCarthy didn’t rule out keeping six receivers on the 53-man roster this season. “The way we play, you could make a legitimate argument for six receivers with the overall roster,” said McCarthy. “Special teams will play a big part on which positions are heavier than the others. It always does.” With the team restructuring Donald Driver’s contract, there have been questions about whether there will be room on the roster for the 37-year-old veteran. Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, James Jones, Randall Cobb and Driver are the five returning receivers. That is the number of wideouts the Packers have kept in the past, but practice squad players Tori Gurley and Diondre Borel are expected to be given consideration for roster spots. McCarthy said Driver, who attended his first OTA off-season practice session today after winning the "Dancing With The Stars" competition last week,  “looks great” physically. “It’s not a question if we think he’s in shape,” said McCarthy. “We  just want to be smart with him. We’re gonna probably keep him in a limited role this week.”  After Driver’s dancing experience over the past three months, McCarthy said: “It’s good to see him back in his real uniform.”
