McCarthy press conference highlights

Some highlights from Packers coach Mike McCarthy's post-practice press conference today: *He considers Charles Woodson an every-down player “absolutely.” He estimated Woodson’s role might change anywhere from 6 to 10% compared to what he’s done in the past.  *It’s rewarding to watch tight end Jermichael Finley grow as a player. He’s having good offseason. There are different personalities on the football team, but Finley means well (when he’s sometimes criticized for sounding like a me-first player). *He isn’t sure what the line is between having too much contact during minicamp practices and abiding by the new CBA rules.  *The rookies and young guys get a true sense of what training camp will be like during minicamp and OTAs. The team was given a full blown review today in practice. The team went through “a ton” of different situations. *The coaching staff completed training camp preparation by Memorial Day, which allows them to focus more on players during OTAs and minicamp. This offseason is new in a lot of ways. It allows you more time to get ready as a staff. * He is still adjusting to the new roles of his assistants, and recently asked Ben McAdoo about the tight ends. (McAdoo switched from tight ends coach to quarterbacks coach).
