Suspended Jolly applies for NFL reinstatement

Suspended Packers defensive lineman Johnny Jolly has applied for reinstatement to the NFL, reports Brad Biggs at nationalfootballpost.com. "I know that the NFL doesn't need me," Jolly told Biggs. "I need it way more than it needs me. I really want to be a part of it and I am hoping to go back and show that I am a good reliable citizen that the league and others can depend on and trust." Jolly hasn't played for the Packers since the 2009 season. He was suspended indefinitely in 2010 for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. If and when Jolly gets reinstated, the Packers would retain his rights.
