From his first day in training camp last year, Randall Cobb showed at least once in almost every practice a playmaking ability that's relatively rare.

The Packers, though, didn't push his development at receiver as a rookie. He caught only 25 passes and instead made his impact mainly as their punt and kickoff returner, where he had the team's best season probably dating to Desmond Howard in 1996.

But judging by Cobb's eye-catching start in training camp this year, it will be impossible to keep him off the field in Year 2 even though he's going to continue as their primary return man. Through three ...
