Dominguez's roster chances ailing with high ankle sprain

Backup offensive lineman Ray Dominguez's chances for making the final roster might be ruined by the high-ankle sprain that could sideline him for all four preseason games. Dominguez has been out since Aug. 2 because of the injury and was walking with a pronounced limp through last week. This week he's been able to do some light running after being limited in conditioning to riding the stationary bike and running on the underwater treadmill. Last season, Dominguez was an undrafted rookie who made the Packers' practice squad for the first five games last season before being promoted to the 53-man roster for the rest of the year. He was trying to make the roster as a backup guard this year. Dominguez has no chance to play in this week's preseason game at Cincinnati, and his odds of playing in next week's finale against Kansas City appear remote, though he's still hoping to return next week. "I have no idea, thatís all upstairs," he said of his chances for making the team if he can't play the final two weeks. "Unfortunately I havenít played a preseason game, and I have to live with the last practice I had. Up† until the day I got hurt I thought I was making good strides. Itís unfortunate where it all stopped."
