Aaron Rodgers best QB in NFL, says Clayton

ESPN’s John Clayton has confirmed what we have known since last season: Aaron Rodgers of the Packers is the best quarterback in the NFL. Clayton came out with his annual list of NFL quarterback rankings, and for the first time Rodgers is at the top of the heap. What else would you expect for a guy that threw 45 touchdown passes and just six interceptions last season? Last year Rodgers was ranked No. 2 behind Tom Brady, and in 2010 Clayton ranked Rodgers No. 6 (with Peyton Manning No. 1 and Brett Favre No. 5). Clayton says this about Rodgers: “It's time to give Rodgers his due. He has a great arm and a great mind. He breezed through last season with 15 regular-season wins and leads a team that I believe will reach three Super Bowls over a six-year period.” In other words, Clayton is predicting the Packers will make it to the Super Bowl in two of the next four seasons. That’s not unreasonable, considering those will be Rodgers’ prime years. Here is Clayton’s top 10 QB list heading into the 2012 season: 1.Aaron Rodgers 2.Tom Brady 3.Drew Brees 4. Ben Roethlisberger 5. Eli Manning 6. Peyton Manning 7. Phillip Rivers 8. Tony Romo 9.Michael Vick 10.Matt Ryan Other NFC North QB rankings: 12-Matthew Stafford; 14-Jay Cutler; 26-Christian Ponder.
