Crosby not working extra in Lambeau

Mason Crosby isn't breaking his routine for acclimating to any changes in the winds from the addition of seats on south end of Lambeau Field. At the team's Family Night scrimmage on Aug. 3, Crosby missed three kicks of between 40 yards and 46 yards during a field-goal kicking period and said he had to adjust to changes in the wind patterns from the team adding more than 6,000 seats to the south end of the stadium and new scoreboards at both ends. The only time he's kicked in Lambeau since then, though, was in the team's lone preseason home game so far, against Cleveland two weeks ago. "You just donít want to over-think it," Crosby said of not doing any extra kicking in Lambeau. "As Iíve said since Iíve been here, game days could be different, it could be completely the opposite from practice. All it is is getting used to the visual surrounding, try to make it as friendly for us as possible, and then when you come out for pregame, thatís where I get all my work and try to figure out where that wind is blowing." Crosby said that during the regular season, he and punter Tim Masthay work in Lambeau Field on Fridays, between special-teams periods when they're needed on the practice field across from the stadium on Oneida Street. Crosby said that in most stadiums, if the flags at the top of the stadium are blowing in one direction, the wind at field-goal level is blowing in the other. That usually was the case at Lambeau, though with the addition on the south end and new scoreboards the winds might swirl more than ever. "We play in tall stadiums with wind on the road," Crosby said. "You have to get out there and hit balls in pregame, and however itís flying then you have to go out and trust it. Thatís going to be a process as we continue on. I donít know what guys on other teams are going to think of (Lambeau now), but for me every game day is different in there, different on the road. We go on the road I donít play in those stadiums on regular basis and you go out and figure out what the windís doing on that day."
