Morning roundup: Jobs still on the line entering final preseason game

Nov. 6, 2013

Training camp practices wrapped up yesterday, and the final preseason game -- against the Kansas City Chiefs -- is tomorrow, but that hardly means everything on the Packers' roster is settled. Pete Dougherty broke down the situation at right cornerback, where Davon House probably would have won the starting job if not for the shoulder injury he sustained in the preseason opener against San Diego. It's unclear when he will return, leaving three others -- Jarrett Bush, Sam Shields and Casey Hayward -- to battle for playing time. In other coverage off the final practice: * Wes Hodkiewicz detailed the impressive camp that undrafted rookie receiver Jarrett Boykin has put together. He notes that Boykin came to the Packers first as a tryout player. * Our notebook leads with an interesting comment from coach Mike McCarthy, who when summing training camp said "something wasn't right there" in regard to all the injuries that piled up this summer. He already has started a review of how he handled practice reps. * The final training camp Insider report reviews the highs and lows of the last month. * Here's video of quarterback Aaron Rodgers talking to reporters on Tuesday. And no, there were no shaving-cream pies this time.
