After two preseason games, Matt Flynn was in the thick of the competition with Russell Wilson for the Seattle Seahawks' starting quarterback job.

But in the third preseason game, against Kansas City, Wilson started and played well, and Flynn couldn't play because of a sore throwing arm. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll named Wilson the starter the following week, and four months after he'd signed a free-agent contract to be Seattle's presumptive starter, Flynn found himself a backup again, as he was the last four years with the Packers.
