As the Green Bay Packers marched to the NFL championship in 1962, one of their toughest games came when the Baltimore Colts came to town on Nov. 18.

The Packers were undefeated, leading the NFL's Western Conference with a 9-0 record. But high-scoring halfback Paul Hornung and linebacker Dan Currie were out with knee injuries, and they had another game coming up in four days, on Thanksgiving, in Detroit.

In their last home game of the season in Green Bay, the Packers defeated the Colts 17-13 in a hard-hitting game dominated by defense. ...
