INDIANAPOLIS - The Packers felt good enough about defensive end Mike Neal's conditioning and his week of practice to activate him for Sunday's game against the Colts.

To make room for him on the roster, they released veteran defensive end Phillip Merling, who was inactive last Sunday against the Saints.

Neal returned to the team on Monday after serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancing drugs, which he said was the ADHD drug Adderall. He said he failed to inform the league that he was taking the medication. ...
