Is there such a thing as a must-win NFL game in Week 6?
But the Packers would be facing long odds to make the playoffs if they lose Sunday night at unbeaten Houston and fall to 2-4.
Pete Dougherty explains why in this analysis: http://pck.rs/WOQY6h.
Dougherty wrote: "A 2-4 team went on to the playoffs as recently as last year, when Denver won the weak AFC West Division with an 8-8 record. But itís hard to see 8-8 getting the Packers in the playoffs this year; at minimum it likely will take 9-7, and even thatís a relative long-shot. More likely it will take 10-6."
In other news:
* Here's Dougherty's scouting report on the Texans: http://pck.rs/R5WHk6
* Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, speaking on his weekly radio show on ESPNMilwaukee.com, lamented the loss of running back Cedric Benson: http://pck.rs/ROaCOD.
Said Rodgers: "Itís tough because Ced and I have become good buddies. (I) really enjoyed his attitude and the effort and the way he has taken his job so seriously. (Heís) really been a great example for those young guys in his room and also on the team of what a professional really looks like.Ē
* The Packers return to practice today at 11 a.m., when we should have a better idea about the status of tight end Jermichael Finley (shoulder) and nose tackle B.J. Raji (ankle) for this week.
