Remember when the Packers were the picture of health?
It was only two weeks ago when the only player who missed practice was rookie backup safety Sean Richardson.
Now, they’re without four starters, plus Richardson (who remains out with a hamstring injury).
As expected, running back Cedric Benson was sidelined because of his left foot, a Lisfranc injury. Benson was hurt in Sunday’s loss at Indianapolis. So were tight end Jermichael Finley (shoulder) and nose tackle B.J. Raji (ankle), and neither one practiced today. The fourth starter out was receiver Greg Jennings, who remains sidelined with his recurring groin injury.
McCarthy said on Monday that he thought Finley and Raji had a chance to play in Sunday night’s game at Houston. Whether that’s changed or not won’t be known until McCarthy takes questions after practice, at around 1:20 p.m.
McCarthy took the team outdoors to practice despite cold, windy conditions. On Monday, he talked about how practice needs to improve. Perhaps this was one way he planned to send that message.
