Wednesday practice report: Rodgers looks limited

Oct. 17, 2012

There were no real surprises at practice today, when cornerback Sam Shields (shin), linebacker D.J. Smith (knee), linebacker Nick Perry (knee), receiver Greg Jennings (groin) and nose tackle B.J. Raji (ankle) did not participate.

Smith will eventually be placed on season-ending injured reserve, while the other four players look to be long shots to play Sunday at St. Louis.

Also, quarterback Aaron Rodgers and defensive back Charles Woodson appeared to be limited. Rodgers said on his ESPN Milwaukee radio show yesterday that he sustained a leg injury in Sundayís win at Houston. He didnít know if he would be listed on the injury report. Woodson may or may not have an injury. Sometimes, heís given certain plays or periods off in practice.

The full injury report will be released after practice at around 1:30 p.m.

Two of the Packersí three PUP players returned. Linebacker Frank Zombo (hamstring) and tight end Andrew Quarless (knee) both practiced for the first time since last season. However, tackle Derek Sherrod (leg) remains on the physically unable to perform list. The Packers now have three weeks to decide whether to activate Zombo and Quarless.
