Packers are road warriors

Oct. 20, 2012

The Packers are finishing up the third leg of their three-week road odyssey in St. Louis on Sunday after playing in Houston last week and Indianapolis the week before.

The Packers and Houston Texans are the only teams in the NFL this season that must play three consecutive road games.

Its a little bit tiring, admitted tackle Bryan Bulaga.

But the Packers are also getting used to life on the road.

I think weve done it enough that were kind of used to getting on the plane at 12:45, 1 oclock, whenever we do, fly over, have our meeting, go to bed, wake up and play, said Bulaga. Its kind of routine now.

For the offense, the most difficult part of road games is dealing with the crowd noise and keeping the lines of communication open.

When asked if hes getting weary of road trips, guard T.J. Lang said: Its not fun, honestly. Its something that every team has to do. It gets old at times.

The Packers dont have all the comforts of Lambeau Field when they travel.

When were at an away stadium, you dont have the same necessities you have here, said Lang. Some training facilities, including hot and cold tubs, are not always available on the road.

There are also hassles associated with travel, even though the Packers have charter flights.

When you get those long plane rides it kind of messes your body clock up a little bit, said Lang. Youve got to adjust a little quicker but its something everybody has to deal with. Its something you learn to adapt to.
