Packers release Vanderlin

Oct. 23, 2012

Green Bay native Drew Vanderlin's stay with the Packers lasted only a week.

The rookie defensive end told our Wes Hodkiewicz that he was released by his hometown team this morning.

Vanderlin, who played at Green Bay Southwest and Michigan Tech, was signed to the practice squad last week.

Vanderlin first was with the Packers for a tryout during the team's rookie orientation camp in May but wasn't signed until last Tuesday.
