Forget about parity in the National Football League.

As the halfway point of the regular season nears, there are only seven legitimate Super Bowl-contending teams.

For those scoring at home, the Falcons, Giants, 49ers, Packers, Bears, Texans and Patriots are the only teams with a bona fide chance of winning a championship this season. Barring something unforeseen, the remaining 78 percent of the NFL teams are simply taking up space and playing out the string. ...
