Friday practice report: Nelson, Raji and five others sit out

Oct. 26, 2012

As Mike McCarthy forecasted, Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson did not participate in the portion of practice available to the media on Friday.

Nelson was one of five starters not practicing during Friday's final run-through before Sunday's game against Jacksonville, along with defensive tackle B.J. Raji (ankle), cornerback Sam Shields (shin/ankle), fullback John Kuhn (hamstring) and linebacker Nick Perry (knee).

Nelson is dealing with a hamstring issue for the first time in his career after feeling a pull during Wednesday practice. McCarthy said Thursday he would hold Nelson out of practice on Friday and possibly test him on either Saturday or Sunday to see if he can play Sunday.

Wide receiver Greg Jennings (abdomen tear) and Charles Woodson (broken collarbone) also didn't practice, but are out for foreseeable future with their injuries.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy will speak to the media with each player's injury status for the Jaguars at approximately 12:30 p.m. (CT).
