McCarthy post-practice: Shields, Perry doubtful

Nov. 1, 2012

Here are the highlights from coach Mike McCarthy’s short post-practice press conference today:

**McCarthy said cornerback Sam Shields (ankle) and outside linebacker Nick Perry (knee, wrist) are doubtful to play this week because of their injuries. McCarthy doesn’t have to give official game-status reports until after practice Friday.

**Defensive lineman Jerel Worthy (concussion) didn’t practice again Thursday, so his chances of playing Sunday appear to be minimal at best. Defensive lineman Mike Neal returned to practice as a limited participant after not practicing Wednesday, so if he’s able to play this week the Packers still will have five defensive lineman available Sunday.

“Our injury situation obviously is stressed there at the defensive line,” McCarthy said. “I had the opportunity to watch Mike Neal in the individual drills, did not get the chance to watch him in the team drills, so I’ll have to see how that went. But if we have to go with four, we’ll go with four.”
