We've heard it for months - Wisconsin is a vitally important swing state in the 2012 election.

We've been swamped with political ads, and the build-up to this election has been historic.

And it's all coming to an end on Tuesday. The general election closes a tumultuous political year in Wisconsin, one that deserves well-rounded coverage that you'll find online and in print among Gannett Wisconsin Media news organizations.

Gannett Wisconsin Media will provide exclusive coverage of Election Day throughout the state with a combination of live video, blog updates, photos and stories. Green Bay Press-Gazette journalist Amy Bailey and photo editor Jim Matthews will travel across the state and talk with Gannett Wisconsin Media reporters who have covered the issues and candidates through the long campaign. You'll also hear from electoral experts and political activists.

Our team of award-winning journalists will provide background and insight on the election and highlight the personalities and trends of unique regions across the state on their road trip.

They'll broadcast from the Fox Valley, Green Bay, Wausau, Madison and Janesville, the home of GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan. They also will write updates on the #WIvote blog, providing up-to-date quick information on Twitter (@Amy__Bailey) and taking pictures from the road trip.
