LeRoy Butler kicks back on Verlo's new Cheesehead Bed.
When cheese on your head isn't enough, now there's cheese in your bed.
Verlo Mattress Factory has partnered with Foamation, makers of the iconic Cheesehead wedges worn by Green Bay Packers fans, to create the world's first Cheesehead Bed.
A bed that looks like a block of cheese? You can practically see David Letterman's writers scrambling now to come up with a punchline.
But Milwaukee-based Verlo is taking its newest creation seriously. The custom-made Cheesehead Bed, a gel foam or memory foam mattress encased in a gold-colored cover that resembles chees, and its spokesman, former Packers safety LeRoy Butler, are already officially on tour. They're stopping outside Lambeau Field from 8 a.m. to noon today in the Tundra Tailgate Zone in the east parking lot near the Oneida Nation Gate.
Fans headed to the noon game between the Packers and Arizona Cardinals will be able to meet Butler and have photos taken with him. (Sorry, nowhere does it say fans can do the Lambeau Leap onto the bed.)
Fans will also have a chance to enter to win a Cheesehead Bed. Or, you can spring for one for yourself. When the Packers win, there's a $200 discount within a 24-hour period of the game at any Verlo Mattress Factory Store. The twin-sized Cheesehead Bead normally retails for $799.
Verlo has also launched the "Who Has the Cheesiest Bedroom?'' Contest on its Facebook page. The fan who submits a photo of the cheesiest bedroom by Nov. 30 wins a Cheesehead Bed delivered by Butler.
