List of Packers' injury updates

Nov. 5, 2012

Packers coach Mike McCarthy discussed his team's current injury situation entering the bye week during his Monday news conference. Here's a quick rundown of the injuries:

*LB Clay Matthews (hamstring) - McCarthy said the three-time Pro Bowl outside linebacker could miss "a couple weeks" after his most recent hamstring flare-up, but it doesn't appear to be as bad as his previous episodes.

*LB Nick Perry (knee) - Perry is getting a second opinion on the knee injury he suffered last month. The Packers hope to have more information in the next 48 hours.

*LB Frank Zombo (hamstring/PUP) - McCarthy said Zombo could have played against Arizona on Sunday after practicing in several backup situations during practice last week. He was activated from PUP to the roster last Saturday, but was inactive against the Cardinals.

*FB John Kuhn (hamstring) - McCarthy seemed hopeful Kuhn could be back for the Detroit game following the bye week after missing the past two games with his hamstring strain.

*WR Jordy Nelson (hamstring/ankle) - Nelson's ankle is OK after spraining it on Sunday, according to McCarthy. The wide receiver, who was a game-time decision to play with a hamstring injury, left after the second series and did not return.

*T Bryan Bulaga (hip) - The team is still gathering more information on Bulaga's hip, but it doesn't look good at first glance. McCarthy admitted it's an awkward position to have an injury, so they're getting more opinions on it.

*TE Andrew Quarless (PUP/knee) - Quarless continues to progress. McCarthy will be meeting with general manager Ted Thompson on Tuesday to discuss what the team will do with him before Wednesday's deadline to either promote him to the roster, release him or place him on injured reserve.

*T Derek Sherrod (PUP/leg) - McCarthy said they'll also discuss the possibility of placing Sherrod on injured reserve after breaking his leg in Week 15 of last season.
