Veterans Day is only a few days away. My perspective about this day has changed since becoming a father of an American soldier.

On Veterans Day I think of honoring the vets who are currently serving, as well as those who are still alive who have served. On Memorial Day, I think about remembering the veterans who were killed in action as well as those who served and are no longer with us. Our newspaper publishes special pages of the names of local veterans buried in area cemeteries every year right before Memorial Day.
