The Green Bay Packers' annual trip to Detroit proved so frustrating in 1991 that quarterback Don Majkowski slammed his helmet into an ambulance, denting the vehicle, as he walked off the field.

On Sept. 8, 1991, the Packers lost to the Lions 23-14 at the Silverdome in Pontiac, Mich. They were 0-2 on the young season, but it was their seventh consecutive loss dating to December 1990.

Lions quarterback Rodney Peete burned the Packers' young cornerbacks, rookie Vinnie Clark and second-year man LeRoy Butler, all day long. He was 25-of-38 passing for 271 yards and a touchdown. Unheralded receiver ...
