Amherst was held to just 38 yards rushing but registered three touchdown passes in knocking off Lancaster 19-7 on Thursday to cap a perfect season and claim the WIAA Division 5 state championship at Camp Randall Stadium.

The Falcons (13-0) broke a 7-7 tie late in the third quarter when Caleb Glennon connected with Max Strand on a 6-yard scoring pass and Amherst added another score with 2 minutes left on a 15-yard pass from Ryan Makuski - who threw just one pass in the game - to Joel Biadasz to seal the win.
