Fever ignites with Bieber concert

The "Mistletoe" came out much earlier than I expected.

But actually I should have seen that one coming.

Justin Bieber's "Under the Mistletoe" CD has gotten a regular rotation in Grace's bedroom along with his other music since Oct. 21, the date of his Milwaukee concert. Grace, her friend and I were fortunate to get tickets to see him, and the concert has done nothing but strengthen her interest in all things Bieber.

After seeing him in concert like that I certainly can understand why. He performed all of his familiar tunes and some new ones as well, danced like crazy and interacted more than I would have expected with the audience. The elaborate four-level stage set changed with every song and was complete with fireworks, lights, volume and smoke.

In return, the crowd - other moms just like me, little ones and college girls, too - welcomed him with lots and lots of screaming.

I had warned Grace months before the big day that the extravaganza would be even bigger and better than she could imagine. After all, it's nothing like any performing arts she has seen before.

She and her pal would let out intermittent shrieks for no reason before the concert started and during. I think they just didn't know how to contain all that excitement.

Afterward they were all smiles and, best of all, so very grateful that they had the opportunity.

Weeks after that "best night ever," they both are eager to catch him in concert again. Heck, so am I.

And much like Justin Bieber's catchy song with Mariah Carey, Grace is now singing ... "All I Want for Christmas is You."
